Summary
- I obtained my medical degree at the Catholic University of Cuenca, Ecuador, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Connecticut. Became a Chief Medical Resident in preparation for a future academic career. Merited induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society for my educational contribution to the UCONN Internal Medicine Program. Previously served as the 2021-2022 UCONN ASCO Oncology Student Interest Group (OSIG) president. Currently training as a Hematology and Oncology Fellow at the Boston University Medical Center.
I am interested in classical hematology, particularly hemostasis, thrombosis. My long-term goal is to become an academic physician with participation in medical education and clinical research. I am devoted to serving patients from different social and cultural backgrounds, ensuring patient-centered care with quality and compassion, and providing bilingual services to English and Spanish-speaking patients. As an international graduate, my commitment is to address health disparities in my practice and research activities, hoping that my work impacts patients' lives on a larger scale.
I am interested in the use of new technologies in medical education and patient care. I founded two educational websites, ecuadoctors.com (a blog created to share experiences for the US Medical Residency application process and mentorship of International Medical Graduates) and classicalhematology.com (an academic website focused on creating educational materials and networking opportunities). Furthermore, I led the creation of the "UCONN IM Podcast" as an alternative educational resource for teaching residents and medical students.
In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities, sports (CrossFit, playing soccer and tennis), music (playing guitar and singing), karaoke, gaming, and spending time with my family.
