  • Dr. Shaw has been in practice since 2009 and is a board-certified general surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as, an accredited HPB Surgical Oncologist by the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School where he also completed general surgery residency training. Dr. Shaw completed a comprehensive two-year surgical scholars’ program through the Harvard School of Public Health where he focused on improving outcomes and disparity within the delivery of healthcare. After residency, Dr. Shaw successfully completed a two-year fellowship program in HPB Surgical Oncology and Abdominal Transplant for adults and pediatrics at the University of Toronto, one of the world largest oncology centers and largest transplant center in the world.



    Dr. Shaw enjoys a robust general surgery practice where he also continues to focus on HPB Surgical Oncology for the treatment of both benign and malignant diseases of the liver, biliary system, gallbladder, and pancreas. Dr. Shaw routinely treats all abdominal malignancies, including gastric cancer, adrenal cancer, renal cell carcinoma, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, sarcomas, and neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Shaw is one of the most experienced HPB surgeons in South Florida and one of the few high volume HPB surgeons in the state doing complex vascular reconstructions, routinely dealing with pancreatic and hepatic cancers. Dr. Shaw employs the use of multidisciplinary teams, tumors boards, and nationally recognized best practices in the treatment of cancer to achieve superior patient outcomes. He has been a voting member of the National Liver Review Board. Dr. Shaw has also received numerous distinctions as a top provider, top surgeon, and top educator in South Florida.
