- Joshua Rosenow, MD is the Director of Functional Neurosurgery at Northwestern University and Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, IL. He specializes in surgery for movement disorders (parkinson's tremor, dystonia). epilepsy , neuromodulation for chronic pain, and restorative neurosurgery. Dr. Rosenow graduated from Yale School of Medicine in 1996 and completed his residency at New York Medical College. He is currently affiliated with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Central DuPage Hospital. His expertise covers areas such as deep brain stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, epilepsy surgery (resection, laser ablation, neurostimulation), and neurostimulation for neuropathic pain (spinal cord, peripheral nerve and deep brain stimulation). He has contributed to numerous clinical trials and has over 200 peer reviewed publications. Throughout his career he has received multiple honors and awards, such as the Randall Smith Distinguished Service Award from the CSNS and the Presidential Award from NANS. He has been Chair the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Pain, the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies, and the Illinois State Neurosurgical Society. He is currently Chair of the AANS/CNS Drugs and Devices Committee as well as co-Chair of the North American Neuromodulation Society Advocacy Committee. He is an alternate CPT advisor for AANS/CNS and the Chair of the Neurosurgery Delegation to the AMA House of Delegates.
