He performed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israeal Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. He went on to specialize in gastroenterology at the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, spending his general gastroenterology fellowship gaining clinical expertise in general luminal gastroenterology and hepatology. During his gastroenterology fellowship, through the assistance of the T-32 NIH training grant, he concurrently earned his Master's Degree in Clinical Sciences, which provided fundamental education for constructing and carrying out clinical studies. He then spent the next year subspecializing in advanced therapeutic endoscopy, again at the University of Colorado Hospital. He has expertise in general gastroenterology and hepatology, with technical expertise in esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, balloon assisted enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). His clinical focus is on Barrett's Esophagus and management of related dysplasia, large colon polyp resection, as well as diseases of the biliary tree and pancreas.
