  • I am a Professor and Chair emeritus of the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Currently, I am Professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Florida. I am a sub specialist in epilepsy have board certification in Neurology, EEG, Clinical Neurophysiology and epilepsy.

    I have published extensively and have edited several books.

    In addition to practice and administration, I am past editor-in-Chief of epilepsy.com, the world's largest website devoted to the condition.

    Last but not least, I am a health journalist, essayist and commentator with my work appearing on various media platforms such as NBC Latino, KJZZ radio Phoenix, the Arizona NPR affiliate and currently host and co-producer of Whats Health Got to do with it? a weekly radio health show on WJCT ( NPR- Northeast Florida).
