Summary
- “The emotionally devastating diagnosis of breast cancer requires an empathetic physician who has the ability to manage both the disease process as well as the patient’s well-being. A successful surgical breast oncologist has the attributes of compassion, experience with novel treatments, and operative excellence to provide comprehensive care to patients. I am proud to be part of Aurora Health Care to help prepare patients to face the challenging diagnosis of breast cancer and breast-related disorders.”
I earned my medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin. My residency in general surgery was completed at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. I furthered my training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York by completing a specialized fellowship in breast surgical oncology.
My practice is focused on the treatment of breast cancer and breast-related diseases for both men and women. The procedures I perform include: lumpectomies, skin-sparing and nipple-sparing mastectomies, total mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies, axillary lymph node dissections and minimally invasive breast biopsies.
As a breast surgical oncologist, I help facilitate the multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive care to my patients. In addition to my clinical work, I belong to numerous professional societies and have presented at scientific conferences across the country. My research interests include the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer as well as the utilization of oncoplastic procedures to improve cosmetic results following surgery.
I am committed to providing excellent care to you, which includes improving breast health, enhancing breast cancer prevention, delivering state-of-the-art treatment, and providing ongoing support through survivorship. Thank you for allowing me to participate in your care.
