Dr. Imbus received his MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and went on to complete a residency in General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Imbus has been recognized with numerous awards for teaching, clinical acumen, and research achievement, including the Ben Lawton Award. He has authored more than 10 research publications with over 50 citations and has presented his work nationally. In addition, he has co-authored multiple book chapters, including "Shared Decision-Making in Obesity Treatment" and "Fundamentals of Hernia Radiology - Direct Inguinal Hernia."
He is an active member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and regularly attends conferences to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in surgery.
