He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami, followed by an internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Hoffman is a member of the board of the Bascom Palmer Alumni Society and a past president of the Miami Ophthalmological Society. He holds adjunct clinical faculty appointments at several institutions, including Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, New England College of Optometry, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry, InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, University of the Incarnate Word, Western University, University of Montreal, and the University of Waterloo. Through these roles, he has been actively involved in the clinical education of more than 1200 optometry students.
In addition, Dr. Hoffman has served for many years as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Ophthalmology at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He continues to contribute to the Institute's educational mission, particularly through his ongoing involvement in the annual cataract surgery course for residents and fellows.
