- Joseph J. DeRose, Jr., MD is currently Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He is the Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery as well as the Co-Director of the TAVR program at Montefiore Medical Center. His clinical areas of specialty include minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery, Trans-catheter aortic and mitral valve replacement, mitral valve repair, aortic valve repair, complex aortic surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting with bilateral internal thoracic arteries, and arrhythmia surgery. He has received NIH funding in the study of robotic CABG as part of hybrid revascularization.
