Summary
- I am a surgical director of the Da Silva Center for Ebstein's Anomaly within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. I am a visiting professor of cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I have been internationally recognized as the creator of the cone procedure for Ebstein's anomaly, which has been the worldwide standard for the surgical treatment of Ebstein's anomaly for years. As part of the Heart Institute, the Da Silva Center is dedicated to the care of children and adults with congenital heart defects that involve absent or poorly functioning heart valves. Other clinical specialties include adult cardiac surgery and pediatric cardiac surgery. My research interests include congenital heart disease and heart and heart-lung transplantation.
