Summary
- Dr. Scott received a B.A. degree in biological sciences, Cum Laude, at Harvard University, a M.D. degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and a M.P.H. degree at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Scott completed his General Surgery residency training program at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He then completed his fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Washington’s Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA prior to joining the faculty at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Scott is actively involved with the University of Michigan’s Institute for Health Policy and Innovation (IHPI), the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy (CHOP), and the Michigan Center for Global Surgery (MCGS). He is also the Co-Director of the statewide collaborative quality initiative focused on improving health for all and promoting health equity by addressing social determinants of health known as the Michigan Social Health Interventions to Eliminate Disparities (MSHIELD).
