- I work in the areas of Drug Development, Health Information Technology, and Health Policy/Public Health, with a professional background in Ophthalmology, Health Policy, and Health Economics. My career has included a decade as a full-time faculty member at Johns Hopkins and Georgetown Universities in Ophthalmology and Public Policy. Public service in Presidentially-commissioned roles in the Clinton and Bush White House Executive Office of the President, the US Department of Defense, and the National Security Health Policy Center of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. Over the past 35 years I have been engaged in a series of healthcare startup companies related to information technology and drug development that have been acquired by Siemens, United Health Group, Aetna, 3M, Quality Systems, Quest, and Biotelemetry, Inc. I am currently engaged full time as CEO of NeuroRx, Inc., a small molecule pharmaceutical company targeting suicidal depression and PTSD.
