Summary

  • Jonathan Benitez-Gonzalez, (Benny, as his colleagues and patients call him) young physician born and raised in the Island of Puerto Rico, has returned to Puerto Rico to pursue his dream of helping his country.
Benny, started his training at the University of Puerto Rico (Medical Science Campus) in the field of Internal Medicine, to then follow a specialty in Cardiovascular Disease. In his passion to pursue his dream, he then completed a post graduate degree (Fellowship) in the field of Interventional Cardiology at St Vincent Hospital (Worcester - UMASS Affiliated). Having identified his passion for Vascular Medicine and Endovascular interventions, he continued his training in the field of Vascular Medicine and Interventions at Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School).

Upon completing his rigorous training, Benny was eager to bring his expertise back to Puerto Rico, where he saw a significant need for advanced cardiovascular care. His return was driven by a deep commitment to address the healthcare disparities he had observed growing up. He envision a healthcare system where cutting-edge treatments are accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, and set out to establish initiatives that would bridge the gap in cardiovascular health services on the island.
