- As a clinician, I am a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and Athletic Trainer (ATC), with experience in family and sports medicine. As an educator, I specialize in medical teaching and learning with an emphasis in primary care medicine across the lifespan. As a professional, I am a delegate to the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a former president of the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants with extensive experience in legislative and professional advocacy at both the state and federal levels.
I joined the faculty of the physician assistant program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP) in 2015. I am passionate about primary care/family practice medicine, sports medicine & non-operative orthopedics, exercise science, diabetes management, and medical wellness and weight loss.
My academic background and experience include: A Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) with an emphasis in Health Professions Education (RMUoHP August 2020), a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from Rocky Mountain College (August 2010), a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Athletic Training from Brigham Young University (June 2003), board certification as both a PA-C and an ATC, and 20+ years of professional healthcare experience.
