She is the Chief of Sleep Surgery and General Otolaryngology and the Director of OHNS Resident Research. Dr. Chang received her undergraduate and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed her medical degree and residency training at the University of California, San Francisco.

    Dr. Chang specializes in surgery for obstructive sleep apnea and minimally invasive approaches for salivary gland surgery including sialendoscopy. She has clinical expertise in ultrasonography for head and neck disorders with a focus on obstructive salivary gland disease.


    Dr. Chang’s research currently focuses on sleep apnea treatment strategies and patient-directed shared decision making and the use of digital and wearable technologies to enhance hearing and sleep health. She has studied and published on topics relating to auditory function in Parkinson’s disease, hearing loss in bone diseases. She has designed patient-reported outcome tools and researched techniques and outcomes after sialendoscopy-assisted surgeries for obstructive salivary disease from sialolithiasis or duct stenosis.
