- Dr. John K. Yue received his M.D. from University of California, San Francisco in 2018 and is a Chief Resident (PGY-7) in the UCSF Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Yue's interests and expertise span 15 years of focused efforts in neurotrauma, neurocritical care, intracranial neurophysiology, blood-based diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, prognostic modeling, and health disparities. Dr. Yue serves on the leadership cores of the U.S. Transforming Research and Clinical Knowledge in Traumatic Brain Injury (TRACK-TBI) Initiative. Dr. Yue received grant funding from the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation (2022-23) to develop machine learning approaches and harmonize large neurotrauma datasets to improve prognostication of traumatic brain injury outcomes. Dr. Yue has co-authored over 200 publications and received national recognition for his work in neurotrauma by the AANS and CNS as the Natus Award recipient (2021, 2023, 2024), the Marmarou Award from the National Neurotrauma Society (2024), and many others. Dr. Yue is a committee member of NINDS efforts to improve TBI clinical classification systems, and serves on the Editorial Board for several trauma and brain injury journals.
