  • John Williamson, MD is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. He completed his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1996 and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Chattanooga in 2000. Dr. Williamson then proudly served the United States Air Force as an active duty attending at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center from 2000-2003. He practiced in Middlesboro, KY from 2003-2022 where he served as outpatient medical director at the ARH Womens and Family Health Center and the inpatient Women's Health Service Line Chief. He has also served as the OBGYN Department Chair of the Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine since the school opened in 2007. In 2023 he joined OB Hospitalist Group, Inc. and has provided clinical services at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY, Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital in Lexington, KY, King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, and his current location, Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

    He has maintained annual board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology for over 20 years. He has been honored multiple times for his contributions to education, notably as 'Educator of the Year' from Lincoln Memorial University, Wright State University School of Medicine and national recognition as the Educator of the Year by the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA). He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
