- John-Ross Clarke is an Internal Medicine resident at Bridgeport Hospital/Yale University Program.
Dr. Clarke earned his bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences (Hons with Distinction, GPA 4.0) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados after winning a Barbados Scholarship. The UWI Faculty of Medical Sciences is widely perceived as the premiere institution for medical education in the Commonwealth Caribbean. He earned his medical degree from the same institution. At which time he was awarded Honors in Internal Medicine, the Arnott Cato Prize for best overall student, Dr. Harry Bayley & Anne Bayley Prize for Best performance in the clinical section of the Medicine and Therapeutics, and the Merck Sharp & Dohme Prize for the highest aggregate mark in Medicine. He went on to complete a mandatory certification internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados after which he was awarded Most Outstanding Intern of the Year 2014-2015.
He went on to start his US clinical training in Internal Medicine residency at Bridgeport Hospital and was awarded Intern of the Year, Department of Medicine in 2018. In 2019 he was honored as an ACP Young Achiever. He currently serves as a Mentor in the Mentorship Program, ACP Internal Medicine Interest Group- UWI Mona University of the West Indies, ACP Caribbean Chapter.
John-Ross is interested in pursuing a career in Cardiovascular Diseases.
For fun he enjoys long-distance running and resistance training as well as spending time with family and friends. Hobbies include visual arts design (including graphic design and digital media, as well as pastel painting and drawing).
