- Dr. John Norbury is an academic physiatrist at Virginia Commonwealth University. Previously, he served as the inaugural program director and division chief for the Texas Tech Division of PM&R which achieved residency accreditation with no citations and commendation from the ACGME in less than 15 months. During his time at Texas Tech, he stood up the only Veterans Affairs based PM&R resident continuity clinic in the country. He worked to incorporate neuromuscular ultrasound into EMG labs at three different healthcare systems, created several spaces for interprofessional education aligned with LCME requirements, and was a faculty inductee into the Gold Humanism Society. Prior to his time at Texas Tech, he was on faculty at East Carolina University where he received the Master Educator Award, the highest award for teaching at the medical school.. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is board certified in electrodignostic medicine and neuromuscular ultrasound and specializes in the treatment of patients with neuromuscular conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, spasticity, and conditions related to disability.
