He received his medical degree from University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, and has been in practice for over 15 years. He completed general surgery residency at Keck School of Medicine of USC. He has trained with and completed certifications with the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI), the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research (CPTR), and the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) MDMA-Assisted Therapies Program. He has extensive experience working with all forms of trauma, including general and trauma surgery, and is now focusing on psychedelic medicine. He has more than 10 publications and over 50 citings.
