- Dr. John McCarty is the Medical Director of the Cellular Immunotherapy and Transplantation Program at VCUHS Massey Cancer Center in Richmond VA. He is also the head of the Cellular Immunotherapy Laboratory there. . He received his medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and has been in practice 31 years. He also speaks multiple languages, including Spanish. He specializes in Cellular Immunotherapy such as CARt cells and in all forms of autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation. He is currently the G Watson James Endowed Professor of Hematology.
