- Dr John Lammie is a semi-retired family physician working with UF Health Family Medicine, usually at Ponte Vedra. He is a graduate of Penn State University and Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his specialty training as a family physician in the Army at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, GA. His Army Medicine assignments have included Bremerhaven, Germany; Fort Belvoir, VA; Fort Gordon, GA as Family Medicine Residency Director at Eisenhower Army Medical Center; and Fort Bragg, NC.
During his career, he attended Columbia International University for biblical studies before serving four years in Benin, West Africa at a mission hospital with SIM International. He anchored the adult medicine practice of Eau Claire Community Health Center in Columbia, SC and directed the Family Medicine Residency Program for the University of South Carolina at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Since coming back in the Army in 2003, he has deployed to Iraq twice, directed the large primary care health system at Fort Bragg, and served as regional Chief Medical Officer for the Northern Regional Medical Command in Washington, DC and as Army Medicine’s clinical policy chief as Director of Health Care Delivery in the Office of the Surgeon General (Army). He was Director of Medical Education for Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg before retiring in 2018.
Special interests include his high school sweetheart and wife for almost 50 years and their family to include 14 wonderful grandchildren. He also loves bible study and teaching, international health, yardwork and furniture refinishing. He is currently attending seminary at Columbia International University, praying to the Lord for an opportunity to serve senior adults.
