- Dr. John Duda is an orthopedic surgeon in Fort Washington, PA. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and has been in practice 43 years. He also speaks multiple languages, including Polish. He specializes in hip & knee reconstructive surgery and is experienced in hip and knee surgery. He partnered with Osteonics USA to develop and implant the country’s only custom designed knee implants. He popularized a 4 step modification of total knee surgical techniques to eliminate post operative patella-femoral dysfunction.He finished his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979 and remained on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania Orthopedic Program as an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery for over 20 years. As Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at the Germantown Hospital and Medical Center in 1983 he was awarded the CLINICAL ORTHOPEDIC RESEARCH AWARD. In 1990 he was elected to the BOARD OF DIRECTORS: RALSTON LIBRARY AND ORTHOPEDIC EDUCATION FUND at the U of P Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery. In 1991he was awarded the JESSE T NICHOLSON AWARD for outstanding teaching by a Faculty Member of the Penn Department of Orthopedics as well as appointed Team Physician for the visiting RUSSIAN VADIMA BALLET. In the same year he Co-founded CENTRAMED an Occupational Medicine Comprehensive Health Care Delivery Organization servicing the Greater Philadelphia Area and surrounding communities. In 1996 he performed the Philadelphia region’s first CARTICEL HUMAN CARTILAGE TRANSPLANT with his live surgery broadcast on all 3 major TV Networks. In 1997 he was honored with the ORTHOPEDIC EDUCATION RECOGNITION AWARD presented by the graduating class of Residents from the U of P Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery. From 2000-2002 he served on the EDITORIAL REVIEW BOARD of the UNIVERSITY of PENNSYLVANIA JOURNAL (UPOJ) and introduced the “HERMES” Voce Activated Videoscopy System to the Tenet Health System televised on CBS news.
