Summary
- I am a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in musculoskeletal oncology. I treat adult and pediatric patients in all facets of orthopaedic care. I primary take care of sarcomas; soft tissue, Ewings, osteo- and chondrosarcoma, as well as benign bone and soft tissue masses and cysts and many patients with other cancers that have spread to bone. I consider myself a limb salvage surgeon, and strive to preserve as much function as possible in concert with the patients needs and desires, as every patient is unique. I perform complex limb and joint reconstructions with implants, custom patient specific 3-D printed implants, and bone and soft tissue allografts; however I also perform amputations if this is what the patient needs, working in concert with physical therapists and prosthetic specialists to maximize quality of life. I work in multidisciplinary teams with medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, plastic surgeons, surgical oncologists, and many other medical professionals. I also perform general orthopaedic care, hip, knee and shoulder replacements, trauma care, and complex hip and knee revision and infection surgeries. I also perform clinical research and innovation to continue to push the envelope on what is possible for effective and safe clinical outcomes for patients. The most important part of my practice is my patients, and spending time with them, getting to know them and what is important for their journey is what keeps me motivated.
