- Dr. John Carl is the Center Head of Cleveland Clinic Children's Center for Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. Primary practice site at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. Additional practice sites include: Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation, Fairview Hospital, Hillcrest Hospital, and Ashtabula County Medical Center. His medical degree was received from George Washington University School of Medicine, Pediatric Residency and Pulmonary fellowship training at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine. He is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of CWRU and has been in practice 32 years. He specializes in all aspects of Pediatric Pulmonary medicine, with special interest in severe asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, bronchoscopy, congenital airway and lung anomalies, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary function testing, pulmonary hypertension, and pediatric aerodigestive conditions. He has directed or participated in numerous clinical research trials. He is actively engaged in maternal and child health advocacy on local, regional, and national levels.
