Summary
- Dr John Baron is a triple board certified physician and THE kidney doctor of choice in Napa county for those who desire to optimize their kidney health, improve their sense of well being, and live longer. He is a great fit for those who are tired of a typical medical appointment and are looking for a physician who truly listens to their concerns and what matters to them, who is personable, unrushed, speaks simply, and explains complex issues in an understandable way. He expertly ensures that decisions are collaboratively formed through a nuanced conversation between the patient and Dr Baron. To help with decision making, Dr Baron advocates that patients bring in their families or have loved ones on the phone during the visit so the patient has the support system they need. He is happy to provide care in the format that the patient requests, whether it be in person, by phone, or by video.
Having completed a fellowship in medicine faculty development and serving as a medical residency program director, Dr Baron is a recognized leader in medical education. He actively mentors residents, medical students, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, teaching them how to provide highest quality medical care in a compassionate, patient centered way.
A certified physician executive, he expertly serves as the physician leader for dialysis units and outpatient clinics.
Dr Baron grew up in a suburb of Chicago, graduated college at the US Air Force Academy, graduated medical school at Chicago Osteopathic, graduated Internal Medicine at Travis Air Force Base and UC Davis Medical Center, graduated kidney fellowship at University of Texas San Antonio, and then worked in the US Air Force for 20 years.
