- Dr. Rubenstein is an experienced clinician and educator with a long interest in defining the physician’s role in improving quality of care and controlling costs consistent with maintenance of the physician’s primary advocacy for the patient.
He approached this mission through leadership in preventive cardiology (Director, Cardiovascular Health Center), regional leadership in promoting the implementation of clinical practice guidelines (Medical Director of MMS-MHA Clinical Guidelines Implementation Project), and by design of an innovative health insurance plan based upon variable copayments derived from appropriate use criteria (AUC’s).
