Summary
- I am a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. After graduating from my Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at WSU/WPAFB, I served as the Chief of Mental Health Clinic at Barksdale Air Force Base near Shreveport, Louisiana from 2004-2005. I also served as the Medical Director of the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention & Treatment Program, as well as Medical Consultant for Drug Demand Reduction. I additionally provided manning support for the psychiatry staff at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi in 2004. I was then asked to transfer and serve as the U.S Air Force Fellowship Training Director for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, OH from 2005-2008. In 2006, I was given the opportunity to deploy and support our troops in Afghanistan for approximately 5 months. While at WPAFB, I also served as the Medical Director of the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention & Treatment Program from 2006-2008, as well as the Associate Training Director for the General Psychiatry Residency Program from 2007-2008. Upon separation from the U.S. Air Force in 2008, I returned to my home state of Florida and worked as a staff psychiatrist at Halifax Behavioral Services in Daytona Beach before moving to the Little Rock area and joining the UAMS staff. I worked primarily at our UAMS school-based mental health program (known as STRIVE) and at a UAMS juvenile justice-based program (AJATC) for approximately 2 years before assuming the Interim Director of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Division for 1.5 years and eventually Perm Division Director from September 2012 - April 2014. I then moved back to Gainesville, FL to practice closer to family. I worked for Meridian, a CMHC, for 8 months before joining the faculty at the University of Florida as an Associate Professor where I am serving as Fellowship Training Director for Child Psychiatry; I also served as CAP Div Chief and Student Health Psych Dir.
