Summary
- I am board certified in child abuse pediatrics and general pediatrics. I founded the University of Chicago Comer Children's Child Advocacy and Protective Services Program in 1991 and was instrumental in developing the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Education and Evaluation Consortium in 2000 which provides child abuse consultations to a mandated population in Chicago. I am currently the director of both programs and my passion is directed in increasing the awareness of child maltreatment by the medical community. I hope I can be instrumental in building the necessary child abuse medical expertise statewide and simultaneously promote our child welfare system policies and procedures to become medically informed to promote safety and best outcomes.
