Summary
- I have had the privilege of practicing As an American Board of medicine certified specialist in the field of cardiovascular medicine for the last 20 years. Of interest throughout my career has been the complex management of patients with advanced heart failure and especially cardiomyopathic disease states. Focusing on the science of the failing heart’s capacity to adapt and recover from the inevitable progression of the syndrome, we have contributed to the field of myocardial recovery across the stages of heart failure including the presumed advanced, end-stage phase which requires some form of mechanical support. Proud to be in the first class of board-certified specialists in the field of advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, I remain committed to the full spectrum of management strategies which have assisted our patients with complex left and right heart failure syndromes to live longer with a more wholesome quality of life.
My Philosophy throughout my career has been to manage complex patients with as minimal therapeutics as possible but as much intervention as deemed necessary to accomplish the targeted goals of each individual. This clinical philosophy, along with a team-based approach that I have applied to successful program building at the University of California San Francisco, the University of Pennsylvania, and most recently at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has proven to be successful in the early and now the later phase of my career.
