She earned her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2007, followed by residency training in Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital through Harvard Medical School from 2007 to 2011.

    Dr. Monas began her clinical career in Phoenix, Arizona, serving as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix and Banner Estrella Medical Center from 2011 to 2018. In 2018, she joined the Mayo Clinic Arizona Emergency Department, where she currently practices and serves as the Associate Chair of Operations.

    In addition to her primary specialty, Dr. Monas is board-certified in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine. She is co-host of the monthly Emergency Medicine Abstracts Ultra Summary with EM:RAP, where she reviews and discusses current research from the emergency medicine literature. She is also a faculty member for the Emergency Medicine & Acute Care course through the Center for Medical Education, lecturing annually on key topics in emergency medicine.

    Dr. Monas has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, covering subjects such as adult congenital heart disease and genitourinary tract infections, which have been cited by fellow researchers and clinicians.
