Summary
- I am a board-certified Pediatrician and board-certified Pediatric Hospitalist. I have practiced in a variety of different pediatric hospitalist positions since 2012. After completing residency at The Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital, I was employed by the quality and safety department to support the recovery of children undergoing major surgeries. Within this role, I worked closely with physician and nursing leadership as the medical director of one of the medical units. After two years of experience, I transitioned to a community hospital where I broadened my medical knowledge and experience as a Newborn and Pediatric Hospitalist who supported mother’s and their newborns during and after delivery in a level 1 and level 2 NICU. Additionally, I managed pediatric patients in a 6 bed unit and consulted for the Emergency Department. It was in this role that I gained a variety of procedural skills including intubation, arterial punctures, lumbar punctures and pneumothorax needle decompression. I also became passionately interested in supporting new mothers who faced many new challenges (including breastfeeding). Six years later, as my own family grew, I made the tough decision to leave a state and job I loved to be closer to family and friends in Pennsylvania. I currently reside in Allentown, PA where I am employed as a Pediatric Hospitalist at St. Luke’s University Hospital. This job has allowed me to expand my medical knowledge while working with experienced Pediatric Hospitalists and Pediatric sub-specialists as we co-manage children with uncomplicated and complicated medical conditions.
