Summary
- Dr. Le joined Pacific Urology in 2016. During medical school, Dr. Le first learned about the intrinsic advantages of specializing in urology. He was exposed to the breadth of the specialty and urologists’ ability to maintain longitudinal care with their patients. He realized that many surgeons often didn’t have the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with their patients in the way that urologists do. Developing patient relationships was attractive to him.
Dr. Le entered medicine in the first place because he wanted to help people. At the end of the day, he finds that being able to help his patients, one at a time, is still the most rewarding part of being a physician.
Dr. Le completed an internship in general surgery and residency in urology at the University of California, Los Angeles. During residency, Dr. Le’s research focus was on the area of prostate MRI and its use in targeted biopsy, with the mentorship of Dr. Leonard Marks and Dr. Robert Reiter. In particular, he worked to correlate MRI findings to actual histopathology obtained from surgery to determine the accuracy and performance of MRI.
