Summary
- My main career focus is in increasing awareness and building protocols for Human Trafficking in the emergency department. Up to 88% of sex trafficking victims receive medical care during their captivity, with the ER being the most common healthcare setting. I developed a three tier protocol that focuses on education, screening, and intervention in the ED. Our work on human trafficking has been featured at Symposium by the Sea, SoFlo Grand Rounds, FCEP's journal EMpulse, and ACOEP's journal The Pulse. I am passionate about mentorship and am involved with EMRA's Diversity Mentoring Initiative. I am a POCUS enthusiast and love all things ultrasound!
