She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, ophthalmology residency training at University of Illinois, Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and retina fellowship (medical and surgical) training at Johns Hopkins Hospital's Wilmer Eye Institute. She specializes in medical and surgical retinal disease. She has expertise in diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, other retinal vascular and macular diseases, retinal detachment, retinal surgery, and ophthalmic oncology. She leads several retinal clinical trials and participates in translational research.
