Summary
- I am currently an Advanced Heart Failure fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I earned my medical degree from UCSF in 2011 and proceeded to complete my internship, residency, and chief residency at the Emory University School of Medicine in 2015. I completed my general cardiology fellowship training in addition to a one-year certificate program in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety at Penn in June 2018. I am now completing a one-year fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant with expected graduation in June 2019.
First and foremost, I am passionate about providing outstanding clinical care. As a fellow at Penn, I have been privileged to care for a diverse group of often very complex patients, many of whose personal stories I remember in great detail. I have been fortunate to train with national leaders who model the humanism, dedication and innovation I aspire to. Over the years, I have come to recognize that creating health care models to support a growing heart failure population is essential, and this is another passion of mine.
I also had the privilege of serving as a chief resident which allowed me to develop my skills in medical education. I love teaching, and have continued to play an active role in the medical education of students, residents and fellows. Because of my interest in health systems and population health, I obtained formal training in quality improvement and patient safety, and have worked on a number of projects. I presently co-chair the Housestaff Quality Council as a liason to Penn Medicine senior leadership, and I serve on the Patient Safety Collaborative Taskforce. I am a member of the PaACC Advocacy committee and an ACC FIT editorial fellow in the Quality and Advocacy section.
My goals are to leverage these aforementioned experiences and skills to provide outstanding clinical care as well as to drive innovation in medical education, quality improvement, and advocacy.
