He holds a medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine and a BS in Chemistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Dr. McCartney's experience includes previously serving as a medical director for an eICU and chairing a system critical care advisory committee for Baptist Hospital Memphis. His publications cover various topics in pulmonology and critical care. He has received several honors, including Clinical Specialty Preceptor of the Year award. He is also proud to continue serving with the Tennessee Army National Guard as a LT Colonel having deployed to the Middle East in support of Task Force Reaper 2025.
