- Dr. Jeff M. Sands is a nephrologist based in Atlanta, GA, affiliated with Emory University School of Medicine, where he has served as Division Director from 2002-2024. He currently holds the position of Juha P. Kokko Professor Emeritus of Medicine. He pursued his medical education at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago and NIH, and nephrology fellowships at the NIH and Emory University. Dr. Sands has extensive experience with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI), and his recent research focuses on developing a novel therapy for NDI. He is an accomplished author with numerous peer-reviewed publications. His accolades include honors from the American Society of Nephrology, American Heart Association, and the American Physiological Society. He served as the 91st President of the American Physiological Society.
