Summary

  • I am a board-certified, fellowship-trained general surgeon who specializes in breast surgical oncology. I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine and currently practice at Stanford Health Care Emeryville Cancer Center. My clinical interests include management of men and women with breast cancer, benign breast disease, genetic mutations, family history of breast cancer, or other breast cancer risk factors. The procedures I perform include skin- and nipple-sparing mastectomies, lumpectomies, oncoplastic procedures, benign breast lesion excisions, and sentinel node biopsies.

I work closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, genetics and other specialists in breast cancer in a multidisciplinary setting to provide high quality, evidence-based, and individualized care to each patient. I am a strong advocate for patient education and empowerment and strive to deliver compassionate and personalized care to patients and their families.

I am currently a member of the Breast Disease Site Work Group in the Society of Surgical Oncology, and serve as the society's external liaison to the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria Breast Imaging Panel. Prior to joining Stanford, I was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago, and held the position of Chair of the Cancer Committee at the University of Chicago Medicine.
