Dr. Jay Thakkar is a hospitalist in Sacramento, CA and is affiliated with Sutter Medical Group.

He received his medical degree from Sardar Patel University, India. His residency training was in Family Medicine at Northwell Health LIJ, NY. He did a year-long emergency ultrasound fellowship after that and gained experience of observation medicine as well.

He speaks multiple languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, French, Spanish, Russian, Farsi and Urdu. He is passionate about bed side teaching, point of care ultrasonography and palliative care.
