With a background in applied math and computer engineering, he has had a remarkable career spanning from NASA to leading roles in prestigious medical institutions. Dr. Fleischman has made significant contributions to ophthalmology through his inventions, including the widely-used laser endophotocoagulator (the worldwide standard for use in advanced retinal surgeries), and his involvement in diabetes research. He has also been active in global eye care initiatives through Project ORBIS.
Currently, Dr. Fleischman is working on a patented device aimed at restoring vision for patients with Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), a condition affecting millions worldwide. This innovative technology focuses on image relocation to functional parts of the retina, potentially offering a breakthrough solution for those suffering from severe central vision loss.
Most recently he introduced a patented portable, low cost, hign quality ocular coherance tomography device that rivals the most expensive large console units.
