Dr Picconi completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Detroit, Michigan at the Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center program. During his training, he pursued research in ultrasound surveillance of early-onset severe fetal growth restriction. After Residency, he completed fellowships in Maternal-Fetal medicine and Clinical Genetics and Genomics at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During his fellowship, he pursued translational research in in-utero gene therapy for congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract. Dr Picconi is Board Certified in General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Clinical Genetics and Genomics. In addition to his educational and research pursuits, Dr Picconi spent 25 years in the Army with multiple deployments as a Field Surgeon, Flight Surgeon, and as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Subspecialist.
