  • Jared Forrester, MD is a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained hepatobiliary and pancreas surgeon. He focuses on both benign and malignant diseases of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas with advanced training in minimally invasive techniques.

    Dr. Forrester completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. He went on to complete his general surgery training at Stanford University, where he served as administrative chief resident and was awarded the John Henry Smith III Award for Outstanding Resident of the Year in his final year. During residency, he spent two years away from clinical responsibilities working in Ethiopia with the Lifebox Foundation to decrease surgical infections through a collaborative quality improvement initiative. Dr. Forrester finished his surgical training with an advanced Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery fellowship at Providence Portland Cancer Institute.

    Dr. Forrester has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the fields of general surgery, surgical infections and hepatobiliary surgery. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife (a liver and kidney transplant surgeon), their daughter and their dog and being active in the outdoors.
