Summary

  • Dr. Jane Gross received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in Oral Biology. Her research included studies on the effects of systemic stress on localized infections. She received her M.D. at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, completed pediatric residency at Tripler Army Medical Center and finished her training in Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Hospital Boston. She has been recognized as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and was the recipient of the Young Investigator Award at the International Congress on Pediatric Pulmonology. In the past, she has served as Affiliate Cystic Fibrosis Center Director at Tripler Army Medical Center and Madigan Army Medical Center. She has been instrumental in leading the evaluation of the Mycobacterium abscessus epidemic among cystic fibrosis patients in Hawaii. She served 14 years active duty in the Army and is now a Lieutenant Colonel in the Colorado National Guard. She has deployed to Iraq in support of US troops and has also participated in military humanitarian activities in the Philippines. She is currently practicing pediatric pulmonology, focusing her clinical interests in cystic fibrosis and aerodigestive disease at National Jewish Health. Her research focus is epidemiological investigation of healthcare associated nontuberculous mycobacteria among patients with cystic fibrosis.
