Summary
- I've enjoyed over 34 years as a clinical and academic physician. After 25 years of Sports and Family Medicine, I transitioned to full time Addiction Medicine in 2015. I'm Board-Certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM); and by the the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) - Addiction. I'm a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
In July 2021, I became the Medical Director of Columbus Suboxone Doctors, LLC as in independent contractor. From late 2019 - 2021, I served as Ohio Medical Director with BrightView, LLC. We treated patients with Opioid, Alcohol, and other Substance Use Disorders with respect, integrated care, commitment to clinical excellence and evidence-based practices. We endorse the Disease Model of Addiction, and treat patients accordingly. We provide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), group and individual counseling, case management, and more. We embrace Harm Reduction, and strive to mitigate the stigma of Addiction.
From 1993-2018, I maintained Board-Certification in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine; served as Sports Medicine fellowship director, clinical faculty for several Family Medicine residencies, and Team Physician for multiple high school, college, and professional teams. I enjoy teaching, publishing, community education, and public speaking.
I am a tireless advocate for Recovery; devoted to the prevention and treatment of alcohol other drug addictions; and committed to mitigating the myths and stigma of addiction. Successful healing and Recovery from Addiction is possible with comprehensive holistic treatment; proper use of FDA-approved life-saving Medications; attention to physical-mental-spiritual health and psychosocial needs; and patients' pursuit of fun and sober support.
