- Dr. James Malter is a Dallas-based pathologist with subspecialties in Blood Banking & Transfusion Medicine, Molecular Genetics, Transplantation Immunology, and Clinical Pathology. He completed his medical education at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine in 1983 and his pathology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in 1988. Dr. Malter is currently Professor and Chair at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, a position he has held since 2011. He has previous academic appointments at the University of Wisconsin and Tulane Medical Center. Dr. Malter has authored several publications in prominent scientific journals, with a focus on Alzheimer's disease, genomics, and cancer informatics. He was elected to The American Society for Clinical Investigation in 1998.
