- Dr. James Hill is a practicing anesthesia critical care physician in Northeastern Ohio with over 15 years of clinical experience. Dr. Hill completed a bachelor’s of science at the University of Akron. He graduated from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and pursued a post-graduate residency in the field of Anesthesiology. Following the completion of a residency in Anesthesiology at the Case MetroHealth Anesthesiology Residency Program, Dr. Hill completed a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. He obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and is a Certified Physician Executive by the American Association of Physician Leadership. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Hill has practiced in academic and community hospital settings. As the Division Chief of Trauma Anesthesiology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Dr. Hill launched a new Level 1 Trauma Center. Following this success, Dr. Hill was appointed the System Medical Director of Transfusion Service and Blood Management for the University Hospitals Health System. With a passion for high reliability medicine, Dr. Hill led the implementation of a system wide patient blood management program. This program greatly reduced harm to patients, as well as inappropriate utilization of blood products. As the current Chief Operating and Chief Medical Officer of University Hospitals Parma Medical Center, Dr. Hill has advanced his organizations pursuit of superior clinical quality and patient experience.
