Dr. Jaime Suarez is a retired psychiatrist who lives in Metairie, LA. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He completed his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina Hospitals from 1974 to 1976 and his psychiatry residency at Dorothea Dix Hospital from 1972 to 1974, following a year of rotating internship at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Colombia in 1966. Dr. Suarez previously worked for 14 years at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. He joined the U. S. Department of State in 1991 as a Medical Regional Officer/Psychiatrist and retired after 16 years of service as a Career Member of the Foreign Service Class Minister Counselor.
Dr. Jaime Suarez is a Life Member of the American Psychiatric Association and a Life Fellow of the Child and Adolescent Psichiatric Association.
