Prior to joining Cantor Spine Institute, Dr. Asghar spent eight years at Nicklaus Children's Hospital (formerly, Miami Children's Hospital). Dr. Asghar is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS), the North American Spine Society (NASS) anda designated Founding Member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. Dr. Asghar brings over 18 years of surgical research and experience (a decade-plus in practice) to the organization.Dr. Asghar is passionate about effecting positive change in the field, and giving back both at home, and abroad. His charitable work in deformity stretches the globe, including service-based trips to Asia, South America, and the Middle East. He also serves as a Member of Setting Scoliosis Straight, a non-profit dedicated to advancing the treatment of spinal deformities in children and adolescents through education, clinical research, development, and technology. Dr. Asghar resides in South Florida with his wife and two young children.
