Summary

  • I am a Radiation Oncologist practicing at the Intermountain Cancer Centers at McKay-Dee and Logan Regional Hospitals in Utah. I strive to provide the best and most advanced forms of radiation services to my patients. I received world-class, comprehensive training in radiation oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. My expertise includes HDR and LDR brachytherapy procedures for prostate, breast, gastrointestinal, and gynecologic malignancies. In addition to brachytherapy and conventional forms of external beam radiotherapy, I have experience in applications of stereotactic radiotherapy including: Gamma Knife SRS, LINAC-based SRS and SBRT of the brain, spine, liver, lung, prostate, oligometastatic osseous and soft tissue sites.

Research and patient education are critical components of my practice. Helping my patients understand their disease in order to heal is an important part of the cancer care journey. My primary research focus is in understanding how radiotherapy and immunotherapy (i.e. treatment that turns patients' immune system on against their cancer) can be used together to improve clinical outcomes. I direct the Radiation Immunology and Precision Radiotherapy research program at Intermountain Healthcare, which is a collaborative program aimed at developing next-generation Immuno-Radiotherapeutic treatment strategies.

Above all, I practice the primary value of my Mayo Clinic training, “the needs of the patient come first”. High-quality, patient-centered care is very important to me as a radiation oncologist. I believe research elevates my clinical practice and my patients, through their experience and outcomes, educate me on where the science needs to go. I’m optimistic about the future of oncology and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Intermountain team. Working as a multidisciplinary team and coordinating care in order to deliver exceptional results for each and every one of my patients is my top professional priority.
